This photograph was taken in August 2019 on a walking trail that wound around the cliff at the Dead Sea in Jordan. I was there for a conference with women leaders and pioneers from all over the Middle East & North Africa, and it was inspiring to see their passion, detailed planning, and thorough efforts in working toward gender parity in their countries. In the evenings when the conference was done for the day, everyone would walk this trail as the sun set, placing the figurative idea of the women leaders walking the trail toward gender equality together into a literal context, which I found truly beautiful.
